TOURNEYS ARE ALIVE AND WELL ( complete )

Cindy , Brian , Chris , Bill , Rob , Tiny , Urs , Gordon , Tobias ,and to Russ and Dan too . 
  A very fun and smooth running tournament . Thank you all for being such gr8 participants . 
  This brings back hope to this format . Only a couple little glitches . 
  The reason I took full admin was to reduce a couple steps in the process . It eliminates the need to physically check into challonge pre tourney . So you only have to check into the pre tournament chat  .
  
  The bracket still runs in its own Automated Bracket Generator . When the clock hits the start time . Anyone that hasn't checked in gets automatically removed . and the tourney re shuffles and then starts . I do not have the ability to edit or add or remove once the tournament has begun . I can only stop and delete the tournament and create a new one . 

  If some one shows up 1 or 2 minutes late and no one has started their match . I can delete the tournament . Add the late person reselect the matching and restart a new tournament . 
  But not if some one has already started playing . 
  
  Showing up later than 1 or 2 minutes . There is nothing I can do about it . 

  That is why there is a pre tourney check in . I learned this playing in similar events outside of WGT like ours in 2014 . And is what our tournaments are based on . I have amended much of the protocol to make it much easier for all participants .

  Todays tournament went from start to finish with only me freaking out along the way . The reason for this was that some of the matches take a very very long time . All other matches had been played and done  for quite some time . One still remained and no one knew anything . As has happened in the past we thought the worst that they had left the tournament . They had not left and were still playing 
  That is why a periodic update to the chat  throughout the match is necessary .
  
  I promise I make as few rules as possible . Only very necessary ones . 

   Another important point I need to make involves several things . 
  There have been some that have logged into the chat without reading the tutorial that explains that the default text is not visible . That everyone needs to click the " A " next to the text box and choose a visible color . 
  
  Once you have done that , please type a greeting . I can't tell you how many times I / we have noticed someone log into the chat . Myself and others type in welcomes to that person , get no response , and watch them just leave . Please do not even think about logging in if you won't at least say hello . Period . 

    Before and during tournament , there is a lot of confusion , restlessness and disorder . But I promise it is always under control . It is just the way these things run . 
  It is best that the period just before the tournament starts and just before a new round begins or anytime at all that you remain present . It is best . I cannot make you . If you feel the need to exit , please type something in the chat . At the very least type BRB ( be right back ) . If you don't I will have to assume that you will not be returning as I have learned from much past experience . And has ruined and stopped many past tournaments not able to complete them . 
  Mostly because they did not realize that they still had another round to play . I cannot edit a round or a player once the tournament has begun . So without an entry to a round the tournament freezes at that point and ruins it for the remaining participants  . 
  
THAT DID NOT HAPPEN TODAY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME . Thank you all
  
  But there were still a lot of people that left without saying anything . There were several that left after their rounds without a word . That will not happen for a several reasons . 

  They may no know they have another match .

  We are all good sports persons and it is part of the tournament to thank your opponent and the other members before exiting .

  I also must be able to thank you for showing up and participating and just being awesome  .
  These and just the other necessary things we do , must happen . In order for me to justify going through this entire complicated process . And even thinking about having these events . 

  Remember it starts for me at least 1 month before the event . During that month it is all I can do just to get a response from a few of the participants .

   I never have any idea how many will show up for what starts out as a 32 man bracket  . 
  
  Today 9 showed up on time . 2 showed up late and unfortunately some had already started their matches and could not be contacted to stop them . Delete the tournament , add the late comers and restart the tournament . It was a shame too today . Both the late comers had been around before the tournament started and were on the roster . But had failed to check in to the pre tournament check in chat room  by the start time . And the Automated Bracket Generator automatically removed them . 

  And continues for me throughout the entire event until the last participant leaves . 
  
  Only hoping that some had fun and went away with a good experience . That is why I do it . For you guys to be able to play in an event like this . There is no other reason . I do not win . Or do I even think about it . I just love to play the format with others that love it too . That is plenty for me . It is very exhausting though . Very cool day . So fucking glad it is over .
