I am the owner of TW Jupiter Island CC and in CC Clash #14 we came in 158th position our best finish ever. What I am wondering is how many clubs typically participate in these clashes? In addition I would be curious to know the total number of Country Clubs WGT has right now? Is there any way, other than WGT answering this request, to look up this information on my own? Thanks.

About 18 months ago Shoe mentioned in the Forum that there were in excess of 44,000 CCs in WGT.
So by now any number between 50,000 and 60,000 is probably equally likely.
Of course the vast majority of these CCs are 1 - 10 members where no member has even played WGT in the last year +pdb1

Speculative opinion right ? Not factual . Don't know what is . But not that .
It would be interesting to know how many CC's with over 200 members there were . That would tell us how many there were under 200 members also .EasyEdward:
no member has even played WGT in the last year
So likely a more fair statement would have a number closer to 50 % activity in all sizes of CC's .
Which by my arbitrary numbers comes out to 2,500,000 members in CC's . That being 50 % of estimated CC sizes . At 60,000 CC's . Of course leaving another 2,000,000 plus that are believed to be inactive . Maybe more .
That's a lot of online golfers . The numbers for those not even in CC's have to got be just as high . Maybe more .
Unless they give us some better numbers . It's all guesswork .

Hi all,
Haven't posted in quite awhile but I think it m ay be less than that! During almost EVERY CLASH Event we, Monarchs of the Glens, lvl 9, just 42 plyrs end up being matched with the same club TWICE & once or twice we got stuck w sa e club THREE times ! ! !
It's bad enough to get stuck with level 18,19 even 20 clubs which happens WAAY TO often to be """LUCK of the DRAW""" ...the pairing of clubs is NOT & NEVER HAS been done to match clubs with similar capabilities of clubs in any waay shape or form. We end up being paired with clubs of 100, 200, 250 members during every CLASH EVENT! ALSO, it's common to be paired with clubs with many many Tour Champions, Champions & Tour Legends !!! We have 1 Tour Champion, 2 Tour Legends & 9 Legends and generally only have 2 - 4 or 5 players at most playing in a particular clash match.
Anyway , just my rant about pairing being not done with much or any sorting of skills, scoring history or capability or numbers of players or numbers of participating players...
Also my understanding that it's been this way with no changes or improvements ever!
Thanks for listening. Probly won't even see this posted...

- Well, it's over! It has been my honour and pleasure to organise and host this event.
I think the discussion thread led us to a very successful format which despite a few hiccups, was fairly easy to run...
But only because I had a lot of people helping along the way. So from me, a huge personal thank you to these guys -
WigerToods, C.Everett, ScottHope, Bery111, Twominusone.
I'm sure I've missed a few names that helped me a lot (sorry, old stoner brain!) and some other people helped by posting on my wall and messaging me to keep me on track, all of you have my sincere thanks.
- FULL BRACKETS BELOW
Sounds like we got the final that this tournament deserved, great play from both guys. Dave (onekeano) has been outstanding, joint winner (with Adeypa) of the strokeplay event and then making the MP final only to lose on extra holes. Huge congratulions to him.
Getting to the final and then beating Dave shows how good a player Jure (mkrizan86) really is. Very, very well played Jure. For the next year you are officially the man!

Paul,
Thank you so much for all of the time and effort you put in to make this event happen. It was incredible. I've put together similar events on WGT and I know how much of a toll it can take on your personal life and I applaud your effort.
Through your efforts I was able to make not only a new virtual friend but a new friend IRL with Mystry78, who I had the pleasure of playing with. As stated in another thread, he doesn't live that far from me and I hope come next Spring we'll be able to play some real golf with each other. That would never have happened without you putting this event together, so I thank you for that.
To those who helped Paul pull this off...I thank you as well.
R.I.P. Andyson

Edit- Congrats to Jure, well played.

Thank you all for the kind comments, the best thing about all of this is the spirit in which we all came together and made this fun event a fitting tribute to Dennis.

Awesome job to everyone involved in putting these tribute tournaments together.
Through all your hard work and efforts, this turned into something special which is apt for such a tremendous contributor to the community.
A special thanks to all the players and community for getting behind this, I made new friends, reacquainted with old ones.......and we reminisced about the great times Dennis bestowed upon us.
I certainly felt proud to be a member of this community once again, and that is what makes it such a good place - the people who actually make this game great.
It took a community effort to honour Dennis and everyone should feel proud. I am sure Dennis looked down and was humbled.
Congratulations to all the official winners, but in my book, every player who participated is a winner.
Three cheers for everyone!

Well done to everyone involved! Fantastically run, fantastically played and a fantastic memory for Dennis! I agree totally with what Alanti has said above.
As Paul eluded above...it's not over until the fat guy in the pink tutu sings (and I'm not sure if that's a good idea lol)....
So, over to Jure (mkrizan86) and BigKnight for the Final Final. This one's for fun, for you two guys to enjoy a final sand slinging contest in a search of extra-terrestrial life on St Andrews. Dennis has sent me a small request from t'other side as to the conditions:
18 hole Matchplay at St Andrews (setup as a practice match or go off your own tees if you're brave enough)
Front tees
Champ greens
Starter irons, 3wd, hybrid, wedges, putter and balls. You may use your own equipped driver.
Play as and when you are both able to arrange the match - we'll look forward to a match report here and a stream/recording of the match if either of you are able to.
Once again, thanks to all those that made this Memorial something special. Now we can look forward to next year's Andyson Memorial event.BigKnight

I saw this the day you posted it. I'm still clenched over the prospect of using the starter putter, but it should be fun ;-) Already sent my time table to BK (congrats on the win), we should get together soon enough. A huge thank you again to you, Paul and everyone else who helped in creating and running this fantastic event.

This may or may not help "confuse" your opponent:
Not sure how long the putter will take to dry after a spray, so use at your discretion! :Dbery111

The Final of all Finals is over. Twas a great time had by Jure and I as we toasted one last time to a great friend and WGT player...conditions were so much fun....starter balls on champ greens with a starter putter? lol.....
We traded the lead on the front at ST A. and came to the turn AS...Jure did a much better job than I of figuring out the putter, and was solid on the back nine. He won 4up.
Was a pleasure to make another new friend, and I enjoyed our chat along the way.
Cheers!

Let me start by saying another thank you to all who organised this event as a tribute to our dear friend Dennis, who brought both wisdom and joy to this place. I've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great new people and will hopefully have the pleasure of playing with them again in the future.
As far as the match, Geof was a wonderful playing companion. We both had to adjust to the different sticks, in my case, especially the putter. Tough for us off dingers to guess the correct spot on the meter, let alone clicking it in time ;-) But after a couple of holes, it was as if muscle memory from Corwyn's UEL starter comps and Ryder cups kicked in and started holing most putts within 15 feet. Lucky night for me, a little less fortunate for Geof. He started well and got 1 up on the 3rd hole, but then burnt the cup edge too many times. I won #5 (25 footer for eagle) and #6, we split the next 2 and were tied after 9, which he birdied and I didn't. But then came the back 9, where I won the 1st 4 holes, we tied #14 and #15 and the match was over with a score of 4&3.
We managed to find some rough, enjoyed the fescue on #13 and all in all had a fun outing. It was a privilege and a treat to have the opportunity of playing along one of the greats of this game, both in golfing and in human terms.

Fantastic work from Paul and his hard working colleagues.
Well done winners and runners ups.
Well done to all who played and all who contributed to the various threads.
WGT should be proud that members of their game have came together like this, in what is a world wide online bit of fun. Not many here know each other in "real life" but have came together to honour a man who sadly passed away.
Will any other online community pull together in that way.....I presume not.
For once and for all WGT either comment or contact Paul by pm......it would ease some ill feeling, of that I promise.
RIP Dennisbery111

The game might glitch and some will Btch but others will look for fun , Andyson was one of few that enjoyed the other side of this game .
It was a pleasure to see how this Family stood up together for what was right .

PaulTon,
Just a quick, belated update...as stated previously, the player I got teamed up with in the matchplay section of your tournament doesn't live too far from me and I finally got to meet my nemesis, who so solidly handed me my hat in your Andyson Memorial Tournament, in real life.
It is still a little too cold to play outside here in New England, but we managed to play a round at an indoor golf simulator facility two days ago and we had a blast.
Thanks to you Paul, I now have a new indoor, outdoor and virtual golfing partner.
Thanks!

Dave (onekeano) and I are trying to get our round in. He was on holiday until the 4th and then I left for holiday on that day. Now I'm working with sheltering Florida people who are fleeing the storm, but, our church is full and I'm not needed as much now as more volunteers came on board as it's now the weekend. We should get this in today or tomorrow.

Dave, aka onekeano, advances after a fun round we agreed to play with the free rocks. He won on the 1st extra hole. GL Dave...win the damn thing for Andyson's and my brother's honor. CHEERS! And vnthmu.
EDIT: If group #14 doesn't play advance me so I can play Dave again. I think if we play another I can convince him to play the free rocks from here on out and to never play purchased balls ever again. Right Dave???? LMFAO

Now we can look forward to next year's Andyson Memorial event.

Amazon.com Review
Links LS stands out from all other golf simulations largely because of the detailed richness of the game. The physics of real life are preserved so that a ball on the screen flies like a real golf ball, each club has its own personality, and each hole is about as realistic as it can be without requiring players to replace their divots.Mike Jensen and Chris Ferguson have provided a detailed and elegant guide to electronic golf technique that, with practice, will have you hitting beautifully placed drives, artful chip shots, and dead-accurate putts. The authors take you from the initial set-up of the game through the fine points of choosing your clubs and examining the nuances of the courses. They also go beyond technique to discuss the mental aspects of the game. At times you may find that what you're reading is as applicable to live gold as it is to the Links LS electronic version. A special section is devoted to the added pleasures of playing online with other enthusiasts, and the "brief history of golf" is an added bonus.

Well, it's over!

Three cheers for everyone!bery111

Paul,
I must say that for people who were often at odds, you have put together a truly fine tribute to our departed friend. Thank you for this.

And this my Friends is what and why we have each other . The community of WGT land .
The game might glitch and some will Btch but others will look for fun , Andyson was one of few that enjoyed the other side of this game .
It was a pleasure to see how this Family stood up together for what was right .
Dear Santa ,
I ask for not my self of this season of joy . But that we all reflect on all the good things that this game put a smile on your face .

PaulTon,
Just a quick, belated update...as stated previously, the player I got teamed up with in the matchplay section of your tournament doesn't live too far from me and I finally got to meet my nemesis, who so solidly handed me my hat in your Andyson Memorial Tournament, in real life.
It is still a little too cold to play outside here in New England, but we managed to play a round at an indoor golf simulator facility two days ago and we had a blast.
Thanks to you Paul, I now have a new indoor, outdoor and virtual golfing partner.
Thanks!
From L-R...mystry78, eingmund & mrcaddie

Wow . Wayne . How cool is that ?
Yes a GR8 example of the goodwill and humanity and an endless list of positive ramifications and future good things .
That has and will result from PaulTon's efforts from his magnificent Memorial Annual Event .
Right On , Cheers and Kudo's .
I'm still playing with friends I made during that event . Some new . Some long overdue .PaulTon

It was an absolute pleasure and a blast to meet Mr Caddie and Eingmund and play some sim golf. And this time I had my hat handed to me by both of them:)
I look forward to playing some real golf with these fine gentlemen this spring when the weather warms up around here.
Thanks again to Paul Ton for organizing this great event for our friend Andyson.

Getting to the final and then beating Dave shows how good a player Jure (mkrizan86) really is. Very, very well played Jure. For the next year you are officially the man!- THE HINGE AND BRACKET FINAL, FINAL
